Creating your new homes takes a team of dedicated professionals focused on your needs. The key members of this team will work closely with each other to handle all construction requirements each step of the way ensuring a high quality of workmanship.
Area Sales Team
The Area Sales Team is a highly knowledgeable Sales Representative for Excel Homes. They will have the most detailed knowledge of the new home community and the surrounding area. Your Area Sales Team will have answers to your questions regarding the home site, financing, mortgage approvals, features of the home, floor plans, options and upgrades, energy efficiency, and of course the home building process. Your dedicated Area Sales Team will help you each step of the way, from the time you begin your research through to the time you take possession.
During your options, upgrades and colours process, your sales representative will provide you with an explanation of the value of options and upgrades and assist you in how to stay within your budget. They will demonstrate why we are so delighted with the quality of the options and upgrades that we have added to our curated collection of interior finishes. Additionally, they will assist you in understanding our build times and why we care so much about energy efficiency and quality construction.
Site Superintendent
Your on-site construction team Site Superintendent is dedicated to building you a quality home. They are a highly qualified Site Superintendent with expertise in each phase of the building process. Typically, they will work closely with each Trade Partner to coordinate tasks such as scheduling Trade Partners in sequential order as home construction progresses. They also focus on scheduling home inspections, ensuring quality control, and making sure everyone adheres to the highest level of safety standards.
Since this person is responsible for managing the overall building process to deliver a high-quality home on a tight schedule, you may only have a few opportunities to interact with them; these will happen at your scheduled walkthroughs.
The first opportunity to meet your dedicated Site Superintendent is at your Check Set Meeting (once your home is ready to frame) where you will have a chance to ask your questions about what is behind the walls and other quality measures that add comfort and energy-efficiency to your home.
Inspections
At Excel, we complete multiple internal quality inspections to ensure each home meets the company’s quality standards. Also, city or county building inspectors will check that the various systems in your home meet local building codes. Codes vary by location but typically include:
- The footings, foundation work and water/sewer lines before any concrete is poured
- Inspections of the framing and mechanical systems (electrical, plumbing and HVAC)
- The building envelope, which includes the roof, windows, doors and exterior coverings, such as siding, stucco, and brick
- Insulation
- A final inspection that must be completed before a certificate of occupancy is issued
Construction Coordinator
Another member of the Excel Homes office staff is the Construction Coordinator who works directly with the Construction Team to determine the build time of your home. Once your new home is at the correct stage, they will email you with the possession date provided to them by the Site Superintendent. This possession date is typically provided a minimum of 35 days before completion.
Warranty Specialist
At Excel Homes, we take great pride in our efficient building practices and quality of construction. We have a team of professional Warranty Specialists that focus on the hand-over from our construction department to you the homeowner. From here, you will meet your dedicated Warranty Specialist again at your 3 Month Warranty Appointment. Our professional and responsive Warranty Team is here to assist you with any inquiries you may have. In addition to addressing any warrantable issues, our goal is to help you keep your home in good working condition for years to come.
