      What is Involved in the Pre-Board Walkthrough?

      The first home tour you will experience through your home building journey is the Pre-Board Walkthrough.

      This is your opportunity to tour your home just after the rough mechanical installation is complete. At this stage, rooms have begun to take shape, but the inner workings are still visible. The Pre-Board Walkthrough is a chance for you to see the quality that goes inside the walls of every Excel Home.

      The Site Superintendent will guide you through your home to confirm that items such as telephone and cable jacks, wall switches, lights, and outlets are installed in the correct location according to your home plans. You will also review any questions you may have about the home building process.

      At this stage of the build, we are unable to facilitate any further changes without affecting the schedule of your completed house and completing change orders that will incur costly late fees. Instead, this meeting with your Site Superintendent is the ideal time to ask questions, confirm your choices and learn more about the process of building your home. If you would like to discuss a change further, please speak to your Area Sales Team.

       

      The on-site Construction team schedules the Pre-Board Walkthrough. It typically occurs during daylight hours between 9 am and 3 pm and will take approximately 1 hour to complete.

      Please Note: In the event you can not attend this tour, we will proceed with construction to stay on schedule, and you will have deemed to have waived your right to the Pre-Board Walkthrough.

       

      The Pre-Board Walkthrough takes place in an active construction site; therefore, we ask that you follow the Excel Homes guidelines for your visit.

      1. Please dress appropriately for a construction site. Protective headgear and appropriate shoes must be worn at your first walkthrough. We will provide hard hats, and we ask that you wear sturdy closed-toed footwear.
      2. Safety is our number one priority; therefore, no one under the age of 18 is allowed to accompany the homeowners on the Pre-Board Walkthrough.
