What Does Excel Homes Warranty Program and Alberta New Home Warranty Program (ANHWP) Cover?
It is important to understand what warranty coverage you have when purchasing a new home. Once Excel's year of warranty coverage has ended, your Alberta New Home Warranty Program coverage commences.
1 Year of Materials & Labour (this coincides with Excel's year of warranty):
The ANHWP warrants your home for one year from the date of possession for defects in materials and labour.
2 Years of Delivery & Distribution Systems:
The ANHWP warrants your home for two years from the date of possession for defects in materials and labour related to plumbing, electrical, and heating.
5 Years of Building Envelope:
The ANHWP warrants your home for five years from the date of possession for the system of components that separate the conditioned space from unconditioned space such as roof and exterior walls.
10 Years of Structural:
The ANHWP warrants your home for ten years from the date of possession for key load-bearing parts of your home.
