What's Involved in a Check Set Meeting?

When you build a new home, there are several meetings you will attend after you have signed your purchase contract. The first of these meetings is called the "Check Set Meeting".

The Check Set Meeting will typically take place at the community Sales Centre and will include your Site Superintendent.

Please Note: In the event you can not attend this tour, we will proceed with construction to stay on schedule, and you will have deemed to have waived your right to the Check Set Meeting.

The 3 main goals of the meeting are:

  • Review how your selections fit into your home
  • Let you know what you can expect during your home building journey
  • Answer any construction-related questions or concerns that you may have

They will also review:

  • The Lot - Where the home will be positioned on the lot. The garage positioning, where driveways, sidewalks, and other concrete flat-work should be located, and other specific details of the home. You will also discuss other features of the lot including the location of fences as it relates to the community architecture.
  • The Exterior of the Home - Review the type of home you chose and its exterior features.
  • Mechanical Features of the Home - You will cover the major mechanical systems that will be included in the home, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing and any energy-efficient items that should be noted.

While a Check Set Meeting might seem like a minor part of your new home building journey, it is a significant part of the process. Please come prepared with any questions or concerns you might have.

At this stage of the build, we are unable to facilitate any further changes without affecting the schedule of your completed house and completing change orders that will incur costly late fees. Instead, this meeting with your Site Superintendent is the ideal time to ask questions, confirm your choices and learn more about the process of building your home. If you would like to discuss a change further, please speak to your Area Sales Team.
